RadMet has developed an Ice Grain Accelerator for NASA to facilitate laboratory testing of life detection instruments intended for missions
to Saturn’s moon Enceladus.
The company has partnered with the ASTROBi Foundation to continue the application of this technology to high-velocity ice particle sampling and analysis.
The NASA Enceladus mission is slated for launch in 2038. It will land on this diminutive moon of Saturn in 2050 to search for life in its saltwater ocean. The mission has a projected cost of $4.9bn.
The collaboration with the ASTROBi foundation represents and ongoing engagement with astrobiology. We are excited to increase our engagement with the search for extraterrestrial life.
